Registration will open on Friday 01.07.2023 at 8:00 and will end on Saturday 22.10.23 at 23:59 or with a maximum registration of 1,500 riders.

After 22.10.23 the price will increase by 10%.

Cancellation Registration without cancellation fee will be possible until 23.10.23 at 23:59.

Haro’e Parking: half an hour stop for all riders. Shanti House children join the ride, riding on Road 40 to  Ziporim Junction until Desert Shanti House 15:30-16:00

On the 180 Km track, there are overall 1231 meters of climbing
On the 90 Km track, there are overall 815 meters of climbing

 

 

Gourmet meal

At the finish line, in Desert Shanti House- Youth Village, Sheff dinner made by Eran Zino, Zachi Bokshteter and the Shanti House kids, will be waiting for you.

 

Transportation and bicycle transfer

Shanti House provides our cyclers the opportunity to receive transportation + safe transfer of their bicycle to the three trails’ starting points.

At registration, there is an option for each cycler to choose transportation and safe transfer (for the bike). Our thanks go to our partners in this journey, Orian and Meir companies, who recruited Kavim company.

When the cyclers arrive at Desert Shanti House, the bicycles will be loaded onto trucks and at the end of the chefs’ meal and ceremony the cyclers will leave Desert Shanti House (by bus) back to their starting point.

Details:

  1. Tel Aviv to Be’eri (90 KM): Bicycles will be loaded onto trucks after arrival in Be’eri. Departure from Be’eri to Tel Aviv at 11:00. Estimated arrival time in Tel Aviv 12:00.
  2. Tel Aviv to Desert Shanti House (180 KM). Bicycles will be loaded onto the trucks after arriving at Desert Shanti House. Departure to Tel Aviv around 18:00, estimated arrival time in Tel Aviv 20:00.
  3. Be’eri to Desert Shanti House (90 KM) Bicycles will be loaded onto the trucks after arriving at Desert Shanti House. Departure to Be’eri around 18:00, estimated arrival time in Be’eri 19:00.

 

 

 

Important points for the journey

Short trail cyclers from Kibbutz Be’eri (90 km) are required to arrive in Be’eri no later than 09:00, after which the roads will be closed.

This journey is not a competitive cycle ride: the maximum speed is 30 km/h and the minimum is 20 km/h.

The route is intended for road bikes only. Participation with an off-road bike is possible as long as the participant meets the minimum riding speed of 20-25 km/h.

The Israel Police will escort the route, block the roads and allow a “sterile bubble.”

The journey will be accompanied by ambulances, a pick-up bus, a truck for bicycles and a technical service vehicle.

Private vehicles will not be allowed to enter the cyclers’ bubble.

 

Refreshment break

Throughout the journey cyclers will receive: water, proteins and carbohydrates as needed at the refreshment points along the route.

First refreshment point – South Netaim, 45 km from the beginning of the ride. Water, proteins and isotonics. Half an hour rest.

Second refreshment point – at the entrance to Kibbutz Be’eri, 85 km from the beginning of the ride. Water, carbohydrates and isotones. Half an hour rest.  (At this point additional group of cyclers will join the Journey to its end).

Third refreshment point – at the entrance to Kibbutz Tze’elim, 119 km from the beginning of the ride. Water, proteins and isotonics. Half an hour rest.

Fourth refreshment point – Ramat Negev regional council, 153 km from the beginning of the ride. carbohydrates and isotonic water. Half an hour rest.

Fifth refreshment point – HaRoa parking lot, 168 km from the beginning of the ride. Water.  Gathering all cyclers in order to reach the end in one bloc (additional 7 km). At this point, all the children of the Shanti House Association join in, leading the trail of cyclers to the end point – Shanti House in the Desert.

 

 

 

From the north with love

Transportation for 180 km cyclers (including bicycle transportation in a separate truck).

Round trip from Sami Ofer Stadium in Haifa.

A bus and truck will leave for Tel Aviv at 3:00 in the morning.

Estimated arrival at the Goldman parking lot (Nahum Goldman 2, Tel Aviv)- starting point: Around 4: 30-5: 00.

Return at the end of the event from Desert Shanti House directly to Sami Ofer Stadium in Haifa.

Additional Cost of 135 NIS.

Rules and Regulations- Shanti House Charity Bike Ride 2023

  1. I hereby confirm that I am healthy and fit for the Journey, I have properly trained for it and my physical state has been checked and approved by a certified physician.
  2. I am aware that the organizing committee, the Municipality, the local authority or any other entity linked to the event, shall not assume any responsibility for any damage that may be inflicted upon me, including physical injury before, during or after the event, and damages to property or loss of any equipment. I’m therefore waiving any right to claim damages from the aforementioned entities for any injury or damage to property. I am aware that I am obligated to obtain, at my own expense, accidents, insurance as a bicycle rider and an insurance for the bicycle and the equipment I intend to bring with me on the journey.
  3. In order to be registered and to participate in the Journey one has to be on the list of participants, to complete as required the registration form, to pay the total registration fees in advance, to receive a family doctor’s approval attesting that he is in proper physical condition, and to sign the codex. All these documents have to be submitted and verified at the Journey’s administration before the end of the registration.
  4. The organizers reserve the right to change the Journey’s path in accordance with orders from the police or other security forces, or in accordance with their considerations and road conditions.
  5. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify a rider from participating in the Journey, without providing any further explanations, as well as to interrupt a rider’s participation in the course of the Journey. A rider disqualified for any reason shall be entitled for a refund of the participation fees only, as an absolutely final compensation. A rider disqualified in the course of the Journey as a result of violation of any of the Journey’s regulations or the organizers’ instructions, shall not be entitled to any compensation. An electronic signature to this document is considered an approval of its contents.
  6. The Journey’s opening shot shall take place exactly on time. Riders who will not be ready in time will not be permitted to participate. Riders, including riders with hand-cycles and tandem bicycles, who will lag behind the main cluster of riders in the course of the Journey by more than 30 minutes, will not be permitted to continue riding and will be taken on a pick-up vehicle.
  7. The organizers reserve the right to shorten the Journey’s course for any of the riders, by giving them a lift to join other riders (any rider lagging behind the main riding cluster by more than 30 minutes will be advanced by a pick-up vehicle).
  8. Riding will not be permitted without an identification tag issued by the organizers.
  9. The organizers shall be responsible for the distance between the head vehicle to the pick-up vehicle. Participants are not permitted to ride outside of this range.
  10. Bicycle riders should adhere to instructions and traffic regulations.
  11. Riders are obligated to wear a helmet throughout the Journey.
  12. Stopping a rider or an accompanying vehicle must take place out of the way and beyond the right road margin.
  13. Riders shall advance in the right lane only and towards the road’s right margin.
  14. Riders shall comply and follow the organizers’ and attendants’ instructions.
  15. In case of a technical problem in one of the bicycles, or an injury, the rider should get off the road and wait at the road’s margin for pick-up vehicle or an ambulance.
  16. Riders should refrain from throwing water bottles or any other waste to the road’s margin.
  17. The event is defined as a popular event and not competitive race.
  18. The accompanying vehicles are not permitted to ride within the riders’ cluster.
  19. For your safety the road shall be partially closed to vehicular traffic. However this will force us to set a medium riding pace, as well as periodic stops to reduce gaps between the riders. We thank you for your understanding.
  20. If a rider bypasses the leading vehicle he is no longer in the organizers’ area of responsibility, and will be immediately removed from the area by the police.
  21. I am aware that my participation in the Journey is conditioned by my declarations and agreements, and that my electronic signature testifies to these agreements

  23. The minimum age for rider’s participation is 14 years old. All bikers who are 17 years old and under must have an approval signed by their parents.
  24. The event took place according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.
  25. Unsubscribe at no cost until Oct 22, 2023 at 11:59 p.m.
  26. Completion of initial registration on Oct 22, 2023 at 23:59, after which tomorrow will increase by about 10%.
